Have you ever wondered how a “call to action” can increase your clicks and sales?
An effective call to action on your website or your advertisement is capable of making your potential clients act immediately and do what you want them to do! For example, you may want them to buy a product, or subscribe to your newsletter, or fill out a form.
A call to action does not just suggest a certain action. Instead, it has to demand this action! As you are creating your content, try to integrate a call to action button that will represent a certain goal for your company.
There are many elements that influence the number of clicks and the sales of your website, and the call to action is one of the most important ones. But how can you convert your ineffective call to actions into clicks and sales for your company?
Pay attention to the message of your call to action.
The words that you use, should provoke thoughts and give value to the people that will follow them! Don’t use general words, such as "Learn More", "Download", or "Submit".
Instead, use certain words that show the benefits that you offer. For example, if you offer a free ebook that educates the users on how to increase their sales, use exactly that benefit to your call to action. So, you can write "Get my ebook for Free!".
Another idea is to think of the problem that your ebook can solve, and state it on your call to action. For example, try to write "I want to increase my sales!".
Use verbs and adverbs.
In fact, we want our clients to act now. Not later!
Your call to action should give the feeling of urgency, using strong verbs and smart adverbs. For example, if you want to promote a certain offer that ends soon, then you should add that end date on your call to action.
If there are no time constraints on your offer, then just add the adverb "now" with an impressive verb in order to create subconsciously the need for an immediate action!
Be careful with the length of your call to action.
Try to limit your call to action to 5 words, or less, unless you have a very good reason to add more text. For example, if you offer your product at a special price, it probably makes sense to expand your call to action.
So, imagine that you sell an ebook with discount. The call to action that you will use, will make you gain more clicks and sales if you write "50% discount on my Ebook", instead of a simple "Download my Ebook".
When you create a landing page for a certain cause, it is very likely that you include many links. In that case, it is better to have your call to action as the only link on your page, but if you have to include more links, make sure that your call to action button has the highest priority!
Place it strategically.
Your call to action should be placed on the website based on the user experience. You don’t want your potential clients to scroll down and find it difficult to come up with the call to action. Therefore, it must be placed somewhere that is always visible to your visitor.
Choose the appropriate color.
A good practice is to always choose a vivid color for your call to action button, so that it stands out from anything else on your site. We would never want to make it difficult for your clients to find your button or lose your message.
Bright and vivid colors usually work better, but you should make sure that the color of the text on your call to action has a high contrast with its background.
